Abuja, Nigeria – A 30-year-old woman, Hauwa Yusuf, has been apprehended by the Nigerian Police Force for attempting to smuggle an AK-47 rifle and four AK magazines into Katsina State. The arrest was made during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
The concealed weapons were found hidden inside a sack of garri. Yusuf, a resident of Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area in Katsina State, was traveling from Lafia, Nasarawa State, to her hometown when she was intercepted.
According to the police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, Yusuf confessed to working for a notorious bandit, Aminu Basullube, who is known for terrorizing Katsina State. She was tasked with delivering the weapons to a bandit camp in the Danum Madam area of the state.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are on the lookout for the bandit, Aminu Basullube.
