VP Shettima Urges Rural Electrification Agency to Amplify Efforts, Secures $750 Million Grant for Power Projects

 


Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to intensify efforts in expanding electricity access across Nigeria.

He approved the agency's partnership with the National Economic Council (NEC) to engage state governors in electrifying communities nationwide. The REA has secured a $750 million grant from the World Bank and African Development Bank for rural electrification projects. While commending the agency's work, Shettima emphasized the need for better publicity to raise awareness of their efforts in addressing the country's electricity deficit.
