Brighton & Hove Albion have strengthened their squad with the signing of highly-rated German midfielder, Brajan Gruda. The 20-year-old joins the Seagulls from Bundesliga side Mainz in a deal worth £25m.
Gruda has penned a four-year contract at the Amex Stadium. The young talent impressed last season with Mainz, making 28 appearances as they secured their top-flight status. His performances caught the eye of several top clubs, including Bayern Munich, but Brighton have won the race for his signature.
Brighton boss, Fabian Hurzeler, expressed his delight at securing Gruda's services. "I saw the big impact he made last season in the Bundesliga and he's a player I admire a lot," said Hurzeler.
A regular in Germany's youth setup, Gruda has also been called up to the senior squad. Despite injury ruling him out of Euro 2024, the midfielder is considered one of the brightest prospects in German football.
