Barack Obama’s 2024 Summer Playlist: A Global Mix of Eclectic Beats as Tems’ “Love Me Jeje,” Rema’s “Yayo” make list
As he does each year, Barack Obama has unveiled his summer playlist, highlighting the tracks that have dominated his listening this season. The former U.S. president describes the collection as an “eclectic mix,” showcasing a variety of artists that represent his diverse musical preferences.
“With summer coming to a close, I wanted to share some songs I’ve been enjoying lately. It wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you discover something new to enjoy!” Obama shared.
This year's playlist features standout performances from Nigerian artists Tems and Rema, as well as South Africa’s Tyla. Tems, who previously appeared on Obama’s year-end playlist with “Me & U,” returns with “Love Me Jeje” from her latest album, Born In The Wild.
Rema, who saw his hit “Calm Down” featured on Obama’s 2022 playlist, makes a comeback with “Yayo,” the fourth track from his album HEIS. Tyla, whose Grammy-winning track “Water” was included in Obama’s 2023 year-end playlist, also appears on his 2024 summer playlist with “Jump,” a collaboration from her self-titled album Tyla, featuring Gunna and Skillibeng.
